Sukanya Samriddhi scheme comes under the government of India and is targeted at the parents of the girl child. This scheme is focused on the female child to save money for their future development such as education, and marriage expenses. This scheme is also called the Sukanya Samriddhi account. it is part of the beti bacchao beti padhav campaign. It is launched on 22 nd January 2015 in Haryana. The scheme provides an interest rate of 8.4 and tax benefits to every Sukanya Samriddhi account opened for July- September 2019. The account opening for this scheme is opened at the either post office or a branch of an authorized commercial bank across the country.





Eligibility for Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana Account


The eligibility criteria for the open account under the scheme are discussed below.


  1. The parents  and legal guardians of the child girl can open the account of Sukanya Samriddhi yojana.
  2. The girl child is below 10 years at the time of opening the account and you can use the account still the 21 years of the girl.
  3. In the beginning, you can open the account with a minimum of Rs 250 and a maximum of Rs 150000 annually with additional deposits in the multiples of Rs 100.
  4. There can be only one account for the one child girl.
  5. The deposit you can withdraw for education and marriage.


Benefit of the Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana


1. Rate of interest: 8.4 % rate of interest you can get in this account.


2.Tax benefit: Under section 80 C of the IT act 1961 the scheme can get the benefit of the amount invested in the bank, the amount earned as the rate of interest, Amount withdrawal from the account.
